I think it's fair to say that most people are familiar with Summerlands so I'll keep the history brief-ish...
In a previous incarnation the main body of the site was a boys school called Doone House which was requisitioned by the Air Ministry during the war as digs for those jolly good chaps in the RAF. Following decomissioning, the school remained unclaimed by the previous owners so it was used as a Royal British Legion home. It since served in different educational roles and most recently as a BUPA care home. Site closure was 2006 although paperwork can be found on the premises dated after this time.
I've reported this place previously elsewhere and since my last visit at the beginning of the year the building has suffered further water and pidgeon damage and the fungus is unreal. Oh, and some anus has left a tap running in the basement so it's flooded with 8" water so take wellies if you want to check it out.
On with the pics!
