right ive read yer 10 step night /tunnel photography here and on OS..the bulb setting is as i assume the exposure as long as yer memory can last or till u close the shutter.i also read u "have"to have the remote to use this..can i not set it too bulb press button and carry on light painting as before??

heya mate, you are correct in what you say but no you cant just push the button to start your exposure as it wouldnt know when to stop. drunken

The remote will release the shutter when pressed and gives you control over your exposures thus allowing you to do 'longer' exposures.

You can hold the button down and then release it when the exposure is complete but this will cause camera shake and blurred images. This is the only way without getting a remote but these are cheap and can be picked up new from most camera stores for around 20quid. Worth every penny mate, id be lost without mine now pirat

Got a cheap remote with shutter only function and a delay 2 seconds shutter release..works ,couldnt see the need for all them additional functions as all i need is the shutter Smile ps not my locks in dover lol
